Frequently asked questions

A few things you might want to know about Agent Skills.

Getting started
01What are Agent Skills?+

Modular capability packages with a SKILL.md instruction file, and optional scripts, templates and resources. Compatible assistants use their descriptions to choose when to apply them.

02How do I install a skill?+

Read its source and license, then run the install command or download the full ZIP. A SKILL.md file alone may not include required scripts.

03Are the skills free to use?+

This directory does not charge for downloads. Each original license governs use and redistribution. Source-available is not the same as open source.

04Are downloaded skills safe?+

Public source code is not a security audit. Review scripts, network access and permissions, and test in an isolated environment.

05Can I submit my own skill?+

Send your public GitHub repository URL and description. Submissions are emailed to us for manual review; personal contact details are not automatically published.
