lightning-greenlight【开发与工程】Greenlight by Blockstream: hosted CLN with self-custodial signing. Server runs the full CLN node; user retains private keys via signer protocol. Mobile-friendly without running a full LN node. USE WHEN: building mobile/web LN apps with self-custody but no on-device daemon, integrating with Blockstream's hosted infra.

Greenlight is a "hosted self-custodial Lightning" service. Blockstream runs CLN nodes on its infrastructure. Users hold private keys on their device and sign via the signer protocol.

gl-client library. When CLN needs to sign anything (commitment, HTLC), it sends a signing request via the signer protocol. The device-side signer validates the request, signs, and returns the signature.
Mobile users can't run a 24/7 LN node — channels drop, force-closes happen. Greenlight runs the node 24/7 while keys stay on device.

Mobile/desktop integration via Blockstream's onboarding:
Pricing: per-channel small fee (typically ~few sats per channel operation); subject to Blockstream's evolving terms.
Greenlight itself is actively shipping: the gl-client Rust crate v0.6.0
and gl-sdk v0.4.0 were both released on 2026-05-21, and
Blockstream/greenlight was still receiving commits as of September 2026.
Its best-known third-party consumer has moved on, though:
breez-sdk-greenlight) wrapped Greenlight
for mobile apps. Breez's own docs now state it "is deprecated and no
longer maintained. It should not be used for new integrations, and
existing integrations should migrate", pointing integrators at the
Breez SDK — Spark instead (checked September 2026; the
breez/breez-sdk-greenlight GitHub repo no longer resolves either).gl-client / gl-sdk as the entry point for new
integrations; do not assume a third-party SDK still fronts Greenlight
without checking that SDK's own status first.
