BackupOrchestrator.create_backup()The main method for creating cloud backups. This method:
Example:
from scripts.backup import BackupOrchestrator
# Create backup manager
backup = BackupOrchestrator(source_dir='./my-project')
# Create and upload backup
result = backup.create_backup()
# The method returns structured data like:
# {
# 'status': 'success',
# 'files_backed_up': 150,
# 'backup_size': '2.5MB',
# 'cloud_location': 's3://my-backups/...'
# }
from scripts.scanner import FileScanner
# Scan for backup files (called automatically)
scanner = FileScanner('./project')
backup_files = scanner.scan_for_backup()
| Provider | Configuration | Auto-detected |
|---|---|---|
| AWS S3 | Set AWS_BACKUP_BUCKET env var | ✅ Yes |
| Google Cloud | Set GCS_BACKUP_BUCKET env var | ✅ Yes |
| Azure | Set AZURE_BACKUP_CONTAINER env var | ✅ Yes |
You don't need to manually select files or run upload commands - create_backup() does all of this for you automatically.
.env ✅# Import the backup manager
from scripts.backup import BackupOrchestrator
# Create backup manager for your project
backup = BackupOrchestrator(source_dir='./my-project')
# Create backup - this single method does everything
result = backup.create_backup()
# Check results
if result and result.get('status') == 'success':
print("✅ Backup completed successfully:")
print(f" - Files backed up: {result.get('files_backed_up', 0)}")
print(f" - Backup size: {result.get('backup_size', 'unknown')}")
else:
print("❌ Backup failed")
Trusted by 2,000+ enterprises - Just call create_backup() and you're done!
